About Sunita Rani

The 4:06.03 timer she clocked at 1,500 meters represents both her extraordinary athletic talent and her total devotion to athletics by becoming the standing Indian national record.

She received the Padma Shri award in 2015 which joined the Arjuna Award she won in 1999 when the Government of India recognized her achievements making her one of India's most legendary sporting figures.

The authorities restored her medals while the entire nation recognized her genuine status as a champion.
